Chilliwack has an active Mentoring Committee that has been formally training mentors and supporting new teachers through in-service, release time for collaboration and in-service, resources, etc.
For the past 2 years, we have provided joint training for mentors and in-service for early career teachers along with our colleagues in Abbotsford School District, and we highly recommend a collaborative effort like this to other school districts! Together we have trained over 80 mentors.

The District contacts are Janet Carroll (604-792-1321) and Chuck Bloch (604-858-2111). Teachers can access additional information about mentoring at http://mentorprogram.sd33.bc.ca/
